Why Agriculturally Black?

Agriculturally Black was conceptualized by me, Jecori Johnson. After moving to Tennessee to Texas, she quickly realized the lack of knowledge about agricultural resources. I know, I know, how different can Texas be from Tennessee? The short answer is very. I realized that I could buy a house in certain areas with no down payment if I stayed in a rural area, but that was just the beginning. The more I learned, the more I educated others (mostly my family) and realized that minorities were really at a disadvantage. My goal for this organization was to bring minorities that are interested in agriculture together to help expand and teach one another how to use the benefits to our advantage.

Our motto is simple: Connecting Minorities in Agriculture. If you have ever moved to a rural area, you understand. Rural areas are not typically diverse. This organization was designed with YOU in mind. We aim to create a safe space where novice level questions can be asked and answered. I am by no means an expert in all areas of agriculture but I hope to educate you as I learn myself.
